A countryside estate built around good food, clear skies, and the rhythm of the land.
Stand-alone villas. An estate restaurant. A working farm. Twenty minutes from Lilongwe.

Stay the Night
Nine stand-alone villas — six Nest Villas in the garden, three Orchard Villas among the trees. Each is private, quiet, and designed to feel less like a hotel room and more like a very good friend's guest house.
Stay for a night.
Stay for a weekend.
Stay until the quiet feels like home.
Book a villa and experience the estate at your own pace.

Harvest Table
The restaurant at the heart of the estate.
Guests and day visitors gather here for breakfast, lunch, coffee, and dinner. Menus follow seasonal ingredients and meals are served in a relaxed dining space overlooking the estate.
Come for a meal.
Meet friends.
Stay awhile.

Events & Functions
Host boardroom sessions, team-building weekends, weddings, private dinners, and family celebrations across the Conference Centre, Harvest Table, and open estate grounds.
Our 22-seat boardroom is equipped for seminars and corporate retreats. The estate provides the setting. The team handles the rest.
The Quiet Season at Chalo
June, July, August. The estate is at its most still. The mornings are cool and clear. The evenings invite you to slow down. This is Chalo distilled — not diminished, but quieter. More intimate. More yours.

The Production Platform
The estate operates across irrigated farmland supported by reservoir and borehole systems.
Vegetables, spices, and aquaculture are cultivated within structured growing zones that support both Harvest Table and wider agricultural production.
The farm forms the working foundation of the estate.
We came for the weekend and stayed an extra night. The quiet, the food, the space — it is the closest thing to a proper countryside estate I have found in Malawi.
